该肽最初是从培养的再生大鼠骨髓中分离出来的,其序列与组蛋白H4的C末端相同。合成的OGP在体外刺激成骨细胞的增殖和碱性磷酸酶活性,并在体内注射时增加大鼠的骨量。因此,该肽可能代表参与成骨细胞增殖和分化的系统控制的一类新分子。
This peptide was originally isolated from cultured regenerating rat bone marrow, which is identical in sequence to the C-terminus of histone H4. Synthetic OGP stimulates the proliferation and alkaline phosphatase activity of osteoblastic cells in vitro and increases bone mass in rats when injected in vivo. This peptide may therefore represent a new class of molecules involved in the systemic control of osteoblast proliferation and differentiation.
