背景
髓鞘碱性蛋白(68-82),豚鼠,化学式为C71H113N23O28,序列为Tyr-Gly-Ser-Leu-Pro-Gln-Lys-Ser-Gln-Arg-Ser-Gln-Asp-Glu-Asn,分子量为1736.79。髓鞘碱性蛋白(MBP)对神经系统神经髓鞘的形成具有重要作用。MBP基因敲除小鼠中,MBP基因的缺陷导致中枢神经系统(CNS)中髓鞘形成减少,形成一种进行性疾病,特征表现为震颤、抽搐和过早死亡。对MBP的研究集中在它在脱髓鞘疾病,尤其是多发性硬化(MS)中的作用。一些研究已经发现了针对MBP的抗体在MS发病机制中的作用。研究揭示MBP基因与MS的遗传易感性相关,虽然大部分都没有。近期的研究表明,接种MBP的动物产生免疫反应,增加了血脑屏障的渗透性。
